Description
Renewable biomass (lignocellulose, triglycerides, polysaccharides, terpenes) can be, in some cases, used as a non fossil carbon source. We will introduce recent progress related to the development of biosourced products as key building blocks for high value added molecules.
1/ Biorefinery : under which conditions can we consider using biomass as a replacement for fossil ressources ? Case study of platform molecules derived from vegetable oils and lignocellulosic biomass.
2/ Use of biobased chirons (chiral synthons) or abundant biomass derived feedstock to build up complex organic molecules.
