Georges Orfanoudakis, Directeur de l'ESBS

As an Engineering School specialized in Biotechnology within the University of Strasbourg, in partnership with the Universities of Basel, Freiburg and Karlsruhe, the ESBS clearly proclaims its attachment to Europe.

Accredited by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur, the ESBS is a member of Alsace-Tech, an Association of Engineering Schools in Alsace.

Ideally situated in the heart of the Upper Rhine BioValley, the ESBS and the three partner universities are teaching courses in German, English and French in an environment of scientific and industrial excellence.

The ESBS approach

  • Provides high-level education based on research, innovation and technology transfer

  • Enables students to complete internships in businesses, academic and private laboratories in Europe and around the world for a total duration of at least 10 months over the course of 3 years

  • Anticipates the future needs of biotechnology by introducing cutting-edge teaching, such as the technological aspects of high-throughput biological experimentation and biological engineering which opens up fascinating possibilities in therapeutic examination, sustainable development, use of biomass, etc.

  • Guarantees successful professional integration both in academia and industry. Language fluency and international internships prepare graduates for the international market.
