- Travaux pratiques (TP) 35h
- Travail étudiant (TE) -
Langue de l'enseignement : Anglais
Description du contenu de l'enseignement
Objectives in terms of knowledge (course content) :
- Basic methods in microbiology
- Enrichment of airborne germs
- Direct isolation of aerobe endospores (Bacillus megaterium), methods to determine the Gram behavior
- Enrichment and isolation of saccharolytic Chlostridia
- Production and analysis of antibiotics
- Microbial reduction of hydrocarbons; cleaning up of environmental oil spills
- Biotransformation(biotechnologic production of aspartate)
Compétences à acquérir
Objectives in terms of acquired skills :
Students will be able to identify and characterize common bacterial and yeast species. Basic molecular mechanisms specific to bacteria will be learned, as well. Introduction to microbiological biotechnology will enable the students to design schemes for biotechnologic production of amino acids and antibiotics and to design environmental biotechnologic interventions.
